Our very first Scout of the Month hardly needs an introduction. Bill has set the internet alight with his scout uniform and top-tier modelling skills. He’s captured hearts far and wide, charming everyone lucky enough to spot him on our social media. And now, it’s time to get to know the Good Boy behind the fame. Brace yourself - you’re about to fall even deeper in love with the people’s prince, Bill.
These questions have been answered on behalf of Bill - by his owner, Sally.
Tell us about Bill!
Bill is a second generation cavoodle (meaning both his dog mum and dad are a cavoodle) and he is turning 7 in March. He has long legs like a super model but is still a little guy, clocking in at around 5 kilograms.
He has epilepsy but is a very good boy and takes his medicine everyday and manages really well.
Bill has a sister, Mia (aka Monster Truck) a 15 year old cat. He wishes they were best friends but she barely tolerates him. However, when Bill is away from home (from a walk or vet visit), she will often run up to him, give him a sniff followed by a quick hiss and a swipe so we take that as a sign of love.
What’s Bill like? Is he playful, mischievous, adventurous, or a total cuddle bug?
Bill had 2 modes:
- A straight up attention seeker. He will wear costumes for pats and treats. He will paw at you if you stop patting him.

Tiny guard dog: BEWARE! He’s very protective of his pals (new and old).
What are Bill's top three badges from Scout’s Honour, and why do you love them?
- Wiggle Butt: Bill gets so excited when mum and dad get home (or when it is breakfast or dinner time) that he prances and wiggles his butt so much that we worry he will wiggle it right off!
- Belly Rub Club: Belly rubs for life!!! Bill’s favourite thing to do is lay on the couch getting belly rubs.
- Been there, Peed on that: Bill likes to make sure he leaves a little postcard for all his neighbourhood dog friends so they know where he’s been.
What does a typical day look like for Bill?
Wake up mum and dad.
Tippy taps on the floor following mum and dad around until breakfast.
BREAKFAST!!!!!!
Have a snooze on the bath mat whilst the shower is occupied - Bill will do anything to be close to his mum and dad, even if it means the occasional splash from the shower.
A busy day of patrolling the perimeter of the back yard, checking for security breaches, keeping an eye on his sister (from a safe distance) and doing some very impressive barking to let everyone know that he is very tough.
Snoozing in sunny patches to recharge or back under the bed.
Puts on the wiggliest, jumpiest welcome home party when mum and dad get home.
DINNERRRRRRRR!!!!!
Couch and belly rubs until he curls up on the end of the bed.
If Bill could plan the perfect day, what would it include? (Maybe treats, belly rubs, or a favourite park visit?)
Bill’s perfect day would be to get breakfast - preferably really early without him having to paw at his parents to wake up - followed by a stroll at the park and play zoomies with Dad. He would then hang out with his two best friends, Ian (spoodle) and Kevin (cavoodle), playing chasey, sometimes hump chasey, until they get told to calm down. He would like a photo shoot with his friends at DogPhotog because they give him all the yummy treats and pats. Bill would end his day with cuddles on the couch while mum and dad have a cup of tea.
Does Bill any funny routines, habits, or “must-haves” throughout the day?
Bill likes to sleep under the bed when he is home alone. Guarding the house by growling at any sound he hears outside and ready to surprise an intruder!
